On Holy Thursday, there is a Catholic tradition of Seven Churches Visitation. It is our way of keeping watch with Christ as though at the Garden of Gethsemane before His passion. On April 17, after the 7 PM Mass at St. Barbara Church 2859 S. Throop Street, we travel as a group to the following seven churches in the below order.
Basilica of St. Hyacinth 3636 W Wolfram St.*** St. Andrew 3546 N Paulina St. St. Alphonsus 1429 W Wellington Ave. St. Clement 642 W Deming Pl.*** St. Vincent de Paul 1010 W Webster Ave St. Teresa of Avila 1950 N Kenmore Ave. Around midnight, we plan to return to St. Barbara which is open from 8 PM - midnight for others to visit. If you want to ride the school bus with us, contact [email protected] to sign up (suggested donation of $15/person). You are also welcome to drive on your own or carpool. ***Note: Basilica of St. Hyacinth and St. Clement are Jubilee pilgrimage sites.
